Excursion to Havana with Cannon Shot
At 9:00 pm, part of Old Havana is moved by the sound of a cannon shot from the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress. The ceremony is carried out by a squad of soldiers dressed in red and yellow-gold in the style of the Spanish colonial army. Those soldiers march towards the cannon, load it with gunpowder and lead.
This beautiful and historic ceremony currently takes place every day in front of a large number of tourists. However, it was actually a military procedure announcing the closing of the city gates.
